Epicuren Baby products are naturally fresh because of our high-quality, essential oil blends combined with natural freshness enhancers - like honey. We never use parabens, phenoxyethanol, or other unhealthy chemical preservatives. Our products contain NO DEA, synthetic colors, fragrances, dyes, petrochemicals, sulfates or agents that numb or alter the skin.

It is easy to feel confused and overwhelmed when reading a typical ingredient label. While the language of organic chemistry is foreign to most people, manufacturers are required to use chemical names on labels. Therefore, many ingredients appear synthetic and potentially risky when, in reality, the ingredients are perfectly natural and safe. For example, “alcohol” simply refers to any chemical structure that includes an “-OH” for “oxygen and hydrogen”. The ingredient “Ethylhexyl (Octyl) Palmitate” might seem intimidating, but in fact, this is a natural derivative of palm butter. However, many companies misrepresent the claim of “all naturally derived ingredients.” To avoid this, look for products that list both the chemical and common origins of all ingredients on their labels.

Aloe Vera Leaf Juice:
Aloe Vera Leaf Juice is a moisturizing extract from the aloe plant that provides cellular nutrition and skin hydration. Because of its naturally antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory attributes, it sooths irritated skin and can speed minor wound recovery.

Beeswax:
Beeswax is naturally protective against environmental irritants and is used to support the skin’s protective barrier without leaving a greasy residue, replacing petroleum byproducts with a natural ingredient to create a fabulous product feel and texture.

Calendula Flower Extract and Oil:
Calendula Flower Extract and Oils have hydrating antiseptic, astringent properties that help sooth itching and irritation from scrapes, eczema, burns, hemorrhoids and wounds that are slow to recover. Calendula stimulates the body’s immune system to protect itself from infection and supports healing.

Chamomile Extract:
By regulating the skin’s anti-inflammatory response, chamomile soothes and calms the skin, supporting its natural ability to produce moisturizing oils and immune factors while helping to shield from environmental contaminants.

Cocoa Seed Butter:
Cocoa Seed Butter is a natural body butter that lubricates, soothes and protects stressed skin, containing a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals that nourish and soften skin to foster repair.

Evening Primrose Extract & Borage Seed Oil:
Our exclusive, proprietary GLA complex (Gamma Linolenic Acid – the omega 6 Essential Fatty Acids) derived from Evening Primrose Extract and Borage Seed Oil stimulates skin growth and helps to balance and maintain the skin’s natural ecosystem of flora and fauna which is essential to the skin’s immune functions.

Episencial™ Essential Oils:
This mild, extra sensitive and therapeutic formula includes organic oils of chamomile, lavender, geranium, rose, yuzu absolute, and others in a rose water base. We never use any synthetic fragrances of any kind. Use of our proprietary Epicencial aromatherapy blend offers much more than a gentle, beautiful smell. Our specialized blends specifically support bonding between mother and child. Episencial aromatherapy is simultaneously uplifting and calming to the senses, and invites feelings of joy and happiness without over stimulation.

Honey – pharmaceutical grade:
Honey softens, moisturizes and protects delicate skin while preserving product freshness with its naturally antibacterial and antifungal properties 

Lubricating Plant Oils (wheat germ, linseed, sunflower, avocado, jojoba, meadowfoam, sesame seed, and olive fruit oils:
A specialized selection of plant-based lubricating oils are pure, soothing, and support healing by increasing the oxygen and nutrient capacity of the skin.  Excellent antioxidants (high polyphenol content), our exclusive blend of therapeutic oils provide lasting moisture to soften and prevent dryness and cracking without clogging pores or leaving a greasy residue. Our lubricating oils help balance the skin’s texture and prevent irritation by enhancing the strength of the skin’s natural barrier.

Noni Leaf Juice:
Noni is a traditional Hawaiian medicinal plant with significant anti-inflammatory power used to enhance and strengthen immune function of skin. Its healing properties boost the skin’s natural recovery process and helps calm the itching and irritation from dermatitis and eczema. 

Raspberry Juice:
With the high polyphenol content found in organic Raspberry Juice, we create a soothing skin butter that minimizes irritation with its super antioxidant properties.

Rose Water (purified):
Rose Water is used extensively in Ayurvedic medicine to sooth, hydrate and calm the skin. It is protective, and helps prevent damage from natural elements and environmental pollutants.

Seaweed Extract:
A marine derived protectant and cellular nutrient, Seaweed Extract provides the antioxidant vitamins A, C and E. It also increases dermal circulation and helps alleviate irritation, while buffering the skin from pervasive irritants.  

Shea Butter:
Shea Butter is a traditional African treatment for eczema, dermatitis, skin swelling and minor burns. It promotes healing, soothes irritated skin, and protects against environmental damage. The impressive lubricating and moisturizing qualities of Shea Butter are due to its very high content of non-saponifiable fatty acids.

Surfactants (biodegradable and natural skin cleansers):
Surfactants refer to a group of many types of cleansing agents. The Epicuren Baby surfactants are plant-derived to gently remove dirt and grime without stripping away the body’s natural oils. They are extra gentle, yet highly effective, leaving the skin soft and fresh. Our cleansers are healthy for the body and for the environment.

Tamanu Nut Oil:
Tamanu nut oil is a natural anti-inflammatory that calms and sooths skin irritations and helps mediate the healing process. It has a very high GLA, (Gamma Linolenic Acid) content, an Essential Fatty Acid (Omega 6) that is necessary to stimulate skin growth. Tamanu is also naturally antimicrobial and helps reduce the workload of the skin’s immune functions.

Tea Tree Leaf Oil:
Tea tree leaf oil is a natural antiseptic with both antiviral and antifungal properties.  It is used to fight an overgrowth of bacteria and yeast (like Candida often seen in diaper rash) to help balance and maintain the skin’s natural ecosystem.

Thyme (Thymus Linalol) Oil:
Thyme is an excellent antiseptic. When used in the right proportions with other ingredients such as Tea Tree, it is as effective as chemical disinfectants with none of the side effects or toxins. Thyme has been used in Ayurveda as well as Greek and Roman healthcare for thousands of years, and grows wild around the world without the use of pesticides.

Zinc Oxide:
Zinc Oxide is a favorite skincare ingredient in Native American traditions. It promotes healing, helps regenerate tissue, slows growth of harmful bacteria and fungus, and seals out wetness and germs. Zinc is also naturally soothing and anti-inflammatory.
